At least four people, including the groom, were injured after his friends opened fire as a part of celebrations at a wedding ceremony in Rajasthan's Sikar district.
The incident has been reported in Nechhwa police station area of Sikar. Jaipur Referee in critical condition
GROOM INJURED IN CELEBRATORY FIRING
Sikar SP Kunwar Rashtradeep said an incident of celebratory firing during a marriage ceremony had been reported in Kirdoli village of Nechhwa. Sangram Singh, a resident of Kirdoli, was to get married on April 10. However, it was only a day before the wedding, when Sangram's friends opened fire as a part of the wedding celebrations while dancing, leaving one of Sangram's friends, Sunil Kumar, injured. Not only this, but a bullet also hit the groom on his leg. Moreover, his aunt's son and Suresh (groom's friend) were also injured in the firing.
Critically injured, Suresh was immediately rushed to Kuchaman for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Sunil Kumar, a history sheeter in over a dozen criminal cases, also died after being injured in the firing.
Kunwar Rashtradeep said the groom's friend Suresh is a resident of Jodhpur and had come to attend Sangram Singh's wedding, adding that several criminal cases had been registered against Sunil. Moreover, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
